Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
We built Gruuvr to help producers and artists collaborate — not to harvest your data. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and what we never do with it.
1. What we collect
We collect only what is necessary to run the platform:
- Account info — your email address, display name, handle, role (producer/artist/both), and profile photo if you add one.
- Uploaded content metadata — title, genre tags, BPM, key, fork settings, and the audio file itself.
- Collaboration and fork activity — who collaborated on what, split percentages you set, fork lineage data.
- Notification preferences — which in-app and email notifications you have enabled or disabled.
- Basic analytics — page views, feature interactions, and error logs to help us improve the product. This data is aggregated and not tied to your identity beyond what is needed for debugging.
2. How we use your data
- To operate the platform — serving your profile, riddims, and collab feeds.
- To send you notifications about collaborations, fork requests, and split confirmations (according to your preferences).
- To improve platform features based on how people actually use Gruuvr.
- To respond to support requests and investigate reported violations.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for ad targeting. We do not share your data with third parties except where strictly necessary to run the service (e.g. our hosting provider, email delivery service).
3. Your uploaded audio
Audio files and trackouts you upload are stored securely on our cloud infrastructure. Access to private riddims is restricted to you and any collaborators you explicitly invite. Metadata (title, BPM, tags) is used to surface your work in collab discovery features within the platform.
Your content is not used for AI training
Gruuvr does not use your beats, trackouts, or audio files to train AI or machine learning models. Your content is stored and processed solely to operate the platform — playback, collaboration, attribution — and is never shared with AI training pipelines.
4. Payments
Payment processing is handled by third-party providers. Gruuvr never stores your card number, bank account details, or other sensitive payment information. Only the minimum necessary data (e.g. a transaction reference) is retained on our side.
5. Cookies
We use minimal session cookies required to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.
6. Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained for a limited period where required by law or to resolve ongoing disputes.
Fork lineage and attribution records that reference your username may persist as part of another producer's public fork history — this is a credit trail, not personal data storage.
7. Your rights
You can access, update, or export your account data at any time from your settings page. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under GDPR or other applicable privacy laws — we honour all of them.
